Hello everyone,
The June holiday season is upon us once again! Artgrain has a full schedule of Portfolio Preparatory workshops for our P4, P5 and P6 students — ongoing even as we speak — and a whole array of 2- and 3-day holiday workshops for your children and teens.
Holidays are a great time to pursue interests beyond the classroom, and workshops are an excellent way to introduce your child to their artistic and creative side, and develop their passion further. Here are a couple of my favourite picks:
- COFFEE PAINTING WORKSHOP
Did you know that coffee can be a wonderful drawing medium? Join us for our coffee workshop (which not only looks good, but smells wonderful) to experience something really novel. A secret: thicker layers of coffee also dry shiny, which can create beautiful reflective effects in your artwork. Also, next time you find yourself in a cafe with a drawing itch and no pencil, don’t despair — you’ll know how to use your drink well!
2. LANDSCAPE TEXTURE PAINTING
A perennial hot favourite, our landscape texture painting workshop is a very popular choice — our students love playing with texture paste to create their own impasto bases for their scenery. Create a scene that is soothing and calming (river-side, beach scene), or warm and inviting (sunsets, sunrises), and have a wonderful artwork to bring home to mum and dad when the session is done.
3. (TEEN WORKSHOP) PAINTING IN CONSCIOUS COLOUR
Another workshop that gets me excited – painting in conscious colour! Learn how to develop skin tones through a very simple colour-mixing process. This workshop is meant for teens from age 13-18.
We are looking forward to having you join us. For more details on additional workshops, and to sign up, please visit our official site here.
